doubles ( 2.5, 5.5 combined, 3.0, 6.5 combined, 3.5, 7.5 combined, 4.0.

9.5-or-higher combined rating)
Please note that COMBINED means adding both
players ratings instead of using the individual or average rating of both
players - Men's Doubles 7.5 and 8.5, Women's Doubles 5.5 and 6.5, as well as
all Mixed Doubles are combined ratings.
FORMAT:
The tournament has 2 phases. The 1st phase of
the tournament, which lasts about a month, has each category divided into
divisions of usually 4 players or doubles teams. Each player or doubles team
has to play one match against each of the other 3 players or teams.
This can be done at any date, at anytime and at any court within the phase
period. Then, the two top winners from each division (2
out of the 4) move to the 2nd Phase,
which is a single elimination round
(if you win you move on to the next round / if you lose you are out) until the two finalists are determined. Each round
in the 2nd Phase is usually 7-10 days long.
PROCEDURE:
At start of tournament, each player will
receive the name, phone number(s) and e-mail address for each of
his/her/their opponents in the division and for each category of
participation. Then players contact each other and setup the date, time and
location of match.
Each division, within the
category, is formed, when possible, following several criteria including
area (Ex. Coral Gables, Miami Beach, etc.) one prefers to play the matches in and type of
court preference (clay, hard, any). The full criteria as well as additional
information can be seen in TOURNAMENT RULES in the TOURNAMENT section of the
Miami Tennis website.
REGISTRATION
FEE: $40.00 per person total no matter the number of
categories one enters (1, 2 or 3 - 3 is maximum). If one registers for singles and later on
registers for Doubles and/or Mixed Doubles, one does not pay again.

Scheduled to be Saturday, March 3rd at Crandon Park Tennis Center in Key Biscayne. Its purpose is to gather all participants in order to have fun by arranging and playing one or more of their tournament matches, and/or by enjoying a banquet type lunch, and/or participating in a contest (hit for prizes), and/or connecting and playing a fun game with new and known players. It is free to all participants and attendance is not mandatory.
